When can I expect my delivery?

Lockdown - 2 to 3 delivery days per week:

The easiest is to check this events page. 

I will also contact you, as it may depend on the van capacity and the amount of orders.  


Up to Tier-3: Thursday afternoon but I will contact you for any other day, as sometimes Wall-E (my electric van) has spare capacity to deliver after a market day!

Deadline to place your order: Wednesday 5:00pm

Do I have to pay using PayPal?

No, you don't. 

At checkout, even though the "payment button" is called PayPal, once you have clicked it, a pop up window should appear and when scrolling down, you will have the option to pay using your bank card details.

Sorry, I can't change the name of that button, it's built-in the website... !

How does the home delivery work?

This is a milkman-style service! 

When placing your order only, at checkout, you will be asked to put your details and when you click Continue, the next page will offer a range of deliver methods from which you can select a Home Delivery for the area you live in. 

I will then confirm your order and let you know what day I will be delivering. 


On the day of the delivery, here is how I normally proceed:

  1. Drop off your order at your doorstep
  2. Collect empty containers if you have committed to swap any*
  3. Knock/ring at your door to notify that I have delivered
  4. Step back to respect social distancing (a bit further away to be safer!)
    1. I will wait just a little and either wave at you if your at your window or have a short chat (from a distance!) as I believe it to be important to have a form of human interaction in these odd times. 
    2. If you are not available or are unable to open the door (working, home-schooling, self-isolation), I will just leave and wish you have a smile on your face when you receive your products!


* (a separate invoice is sent to you if you fail to return containers you had committed to swap).

Do the Collection Points still work?

Yes - the list of collection points can be found on the Collection Points page 

Is it possible to get my own bottles refilled during a delivery round?

Unfortunately, no. 

1/ With the current sanitary measures, it would be a bit difficult to organise from a mobile van.

2/ The other issue is more of a logistic one as I cannot have my drums efficiently placed in the van to serve in an adequate and safe manner (they are 20kg+ to move around!).


If you do not wish to swap your existing containers because you like them or they fit nicely where you store them, then get a container from me and you can swap those next time you order online.

Can I swap any bottle at delivery?

You CAN swap bottles

  • empty, washed (I really emphasise on you guys rinsing out the bottles please)
  • in good conditions : lids not missing and closing, containers not pierced, etc
  • whose capacity does not have to match the quantity you are ordering on Maya's Eco-Shop

You CANNOT swap bottles

  • swap any bottle for a 5L container, you need to swap a 5L or order one as you place your order.
  • that used to contain food or drinks (that includes water bottles)
  • that are damaged, pierced, have missing or broken lids or bottles in bad shape (very squeezed for example). I am happy to help reusing but I am NOT a recycling centre. Please be sensible. 

NOTE:

When ordering a 5L container, you must swap a 5L container, not a bottle of a smaller size.

Do the empty bottles I want to return have to match the quantity I am ordering?

No any capacity above 200ml is fine, exceot fir the 5L containers.

As long as the container is NOT a food, NOT a drink bottle, you can swap and return any bottle in good conditions (see above). The aim is to reuse those containers as we're all trying to reduce the overall plastic consumption after all. But keep in mind that I am not a recycling centre for containers in poor conditions. Thank you!

What happens to the bottles I return?

There are a few steps :

  1. The bottles are left untouched for days - the virus doesn't survive over 72h but I prefer to wait longer!
  2. The outside of the bottles are thoroughly cleaned following the government advice
  3. The bottles are left to dry for another day or so.
  4. The inside of the bottles are cleaned
  5. The bottles are left to dry

This means that there is approximately a week and in many cases longer before the containers are being reused.
